Blizzard adding "appear offline" option to its games, starting with Diablo III

Starting with the Diablo III 1.05 patch, Blizzard is introducing an "appear offline" feature to its games. Starcraft II and World of Warcraft will add the feature in the near future.

It's puzzling why this feature wasn't included in its games in the first place, but at least gamers will have the ability to be afforded some privacy while playing. World of Warcraft is a little more problematic if the player is griefing or trolling, however.

Lol, that's one of the most basic functions of all online applications.
Ah well, I never even noticed the lack of it in SC2, probably cause none of my friends have the game :).

I wonder what made Blizzard think about all of these things now?

Well, I got Torchlight 2 so I'm more or less permanently offline from Diablo3 right now...

Well, it is fun at least and the classes have a unique feel. The choices you make you have to stick with. You have attributes, skills (feats) and you have your pet and several armour spots, spells and your fishes of course. So far, I just HAD to start it up, and I just had to make a cute beserker and I just had to run around making some quests and whoops - time flies.
The difference between Diabl3 vs Diablo 2 and Torchlight 2 vs Torchlight is that Torchlight 2 had become a fullfledged game that have branched out and grown. Diablo 3 was just too streamlined and not enough changes between your play troughs and you had lost the "Diablo" feel a bit. Torchlight 2 has become a better game now and has a lot of nice things going for it. The bad part is still IMO the cutesy graphics, but the game play has become more intense and tight.

I really like Torchlight 2 and for that price - it is a no brainer.
P.S You can play offline, LAN and online - however you like!

Just as "D3" should have been all along.

Exactly - so bar the cutesy graphics - Torchlight 2 wins a fairly even match - but with the price situation and so to say it "Goowill investment" Torchlight 2 is just winning I guess ;)
