Diablo 3's 1.0.5 patch lays PvP groundwork, PvP tokens earnable currency

The next big patch for Diablo III won't be adding player vs. player content in an active sense, but Blizzard have begun to insert PvP related code to the action RPG, reveal avid Diablo fans.

Winning PvP matches earns gold, XP and tokens. 'Gryffith the Warmaster' will handle the PvP vendor duties, and will be found in New Tristram's Slaughtered Calf Inn.

It seems the added client code also spills the beans on PvP ranks and the names of the arenas? Scout, Grunt, Sergeant, Senior Sergeant, First Sergeant and Stone Guard are possible ranks.

The Fetid Pools, Pit of the Condemned, Bastionís Forge, Altar of Courage and Leroicís Garden meanwhile sound like they could be the deathmatch arenas. A string within the update also, in placeholder style, says to spend tokens "to get fat loots!Ē The details were scried by Diablo fans over at Diablo Fans - how apt.

I wonder if this will get exploited, killing each other in turn to get the loot faster.

It's a non-ranked video game designed purely for entertainment, so of course people will exploit it if they can.

PVP - ughhh. Something I avoid at every turn in MMOs yet I know many who play PVP and that only (must fulfill some inner psychotic need for dominance or dick measuring - whoops said a naughty word:p).

PvP can be loads of fun, but overall I prefer Co-op play through the game.

i like playing friendlly duel pvp or with more then 1

but once it gets a rage/fag experience im out i don't want to meet people who think they are god on the game's pvp while they are bad and just blaming others, or those who can't admit their bad moves that causes em to die then start calling names or accusing of cheating and son crap on and on and on then im bye bye... or a large ignore button...

i also play team fortress quite a nice fun game but really... i automute all voice chatting because i don't want to hear a stupid immature 8 year old yelling at his mic because he dies... really...

I have to agree with you lichlord. That is one of the main reasons I don't enjoy playing WoW as well as most other PvP games. You always have some idiots you think that they are the best, and after that the swearing comes as well as impolite comments.

It is easy to ignore it, but none the less, it ruins your gaming experience.

You should see the PVP idiots in "TOR" - real bozo's and apologies to any member who is one. But they really got on my nerve. In "STO" however you can come across PVP at any time if you wish, partake to any degree you might like to and actually have a jolly good time often learning useful tips for your own SP missions.
