World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria hasn't enjoyed the same success as previous expansions, according to analyst firm Lazard Capital Markets.

Analysts revealed the game has shifted between 600,000-700,000 copies since launch, down 60% on Cataclysm. Bilzzard is yet to announce sales figures.

The game has suffered dwindling subscriber levels in previous years.

Every game needs to RIP eventually.
I'm surprised this has lasted this long in the first places, specially being subscription based.

I think they'll have to go all in now, the next expansion should be the second BC, with the final reveal of Sargeras, for levels 90-100.

I didn't think that this one will make up for anything. People are getting tired of WoW, did they really think they could go on forever with this.

Hardly surprising with "GW2" released and I do believe gamers finbally tiring of this ancient and, let's face it by now a pretty ordinary MMO.

I knew they were grasping as soon as I knew they were bringing pandas into it.

Sorry, but that's not really an argument in WoW. You have cow-people, Harry Potter house elves building zeppelins, gnolls obsessing over candles, fuchsia-haired gnomes, talking walruses and eskimo cow-people. Pandas are quite realistic.

Would anyone admit it if they did?

I played it from 3.1 to 3.3.3, and then some free Cataclysm trials. I still think back to those times as some of the greatest I've ever had gaming, it's a huge, expansive world with a great atmosphere when you first experience it, partly due to some of the best background music I've heard. (Fun fact: I played on Silvermoon EU, same server as Brevik, but Horde) But it eventually becomes a gear grind, and from Cata onwards, it's lost its charm. It's also much too time-consuming if you're not a student on holiday. But I still regret not getting to level up the best character/race/class name combo ever: A troll warlock called Diemon.

And to answer your question hero, just finished Little Brother by Cory Doctorrow and I'm thinking of either the Martian Chronicles by Bradbury or The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Campbell ;)

I've played since vanilla WoW, and but my pattern of playing has become to play for 2-3 months everytime theres a new expansion just to experience whats new and hit the new level cap.

I read it elsewhere, and it wasnt accounting for the digital sales. They were only doing physical copies only. I'm sure once the digital sales report comes out, itll be alot higher. Im willing to bet my next paycheck on it

True, there are always digital sales.
Can't forget that entire "PC is dying" panic of the last few years caused by those sales not being included.

Well we all know "PC gaming is dying" ws and remains a Frankenstein monster ceated by the media fed by the paranoia of the gaming industry....but not the gamers. I don't really believe digital sales for Blizzard games are nearly as high as retail slaes. A rare and somewhat strange ocurrence.

Hard to say, my SC2 purchase was digital, a.k.a. I bought a key off of ebay.
There seem to be plenty of offers for Pandaria as well.

Idk hero (and im somewhat of a blizzard fanboy but I wouldnt say a fanatical fanboy, Ive been upset with somethings theyve done like the whole split oup sc2 into 3 parts) but they had both a digital regular edition, and collectors, and im sure alot of people bought collectors. Alot of the gamestops or stores that would near me didnt have midnight releases cause they didnt send them enough to do it. I'm going to bet that the digital sales are double. But only time will tell.

They very well could be in countries otrher than in the Australasian region, but here a retail boxed copy costs less than a digital download and midnight launches are still very, very popular.
So I stand corrected,guys.
