Ubsioft: Assassin's Creed 3 DLC will be "WTF?!" sidequests

At the end of Assassin's Creed 2, Desmond's last lines in the game were "What... the... F--K?!" Well, Ubisoft wants to make you think that during the downloadable content for Assassin's Creed 3.

According to director Alex Hutchinson at the current Eurogamer Expo, "We know that not everyone will buy it. So it's a 'what the f--k' chunk of story that, if you missed it, the next game will still make sense."

Animation director Jonathan Cooper added, "You will never guess what it is. It's that early that we haven't decided. There are debates as to where we draw the line in the various chunks (of the story).

"And unlike some people we really don't start work on it until the game is finished. It is not on the disc."

Assassin's Creed 3 is due to be released on the 23rd November for PC, and 30th October for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I'll be annoyed if anything they leave out is important to the story, I'll probably buy the DLC anyway but its the principle of buying and incomplete game.

That is the part I don't like about DLC's. You buy a game in hopes of it being complete... only to realise that content has been left out (to be continued)

The good thing, and probably the only good thing, about this being published by Ubislag is that despite having to pay for DLC's the price will drop very quickly quickly as all Ubi products do. Within 6 months of release the base game will be at least half price.

I've always admired their ability to make DLC that was an entire story in its own right for AC. If you played AC2 and not any of the DLC, you could still play AC3 and not really miss out of any of the desmond story. So I'm pretty confident that they wont go ahead and do a WTF with AC3, but rather do a WTF when you start the DLC instead :).
