World of Tanks doubles subscribership to 40M accounts

Wargaming.net has announced that World of Tanks has reached a new milestone of 40M registered accounts worldwide, double the number of accounts it reported early this year.

The developer attributes the massive bump in subscribers to the major 8.0 update which overhauled the game's graphics and gameplay, while adding realistic physics.

The game's popularity in Russia, in particular, has peaked with the game at one point enjoying over half a million gamers playing at the same time on a single server.

Poor sods :)

Besides, registered accounts mean nothing it's about the active ones.

But they only have one for Russia don't they?

I'm not saying that 500k concurrent is not a lot of people I'm just saying that the number of 40 million is most certainly inflated.

I stopped playing a while ago and will only consider returning if they fix at least the main issues, zero-damage criticals and excessive randomness.

The premise is a good one, but for me the gameplay just was not there. Obviously 500K think otherwise, but bully for them and their Gold stashes.

I stopped due to excessive grind basically. They never fixed that one!

It was fun while it lasted.

yeah the grinding stops largely when you p2p i bought a churchill from a paysafecard i got for free allong with a book when i bought that tank its making life easy i earn 10X the rates with it not to mention the premium acc bonus

in that game f2p is utterly grinding the blood out of the nails you have to pay if you wanna go somewhat faster
