Simon Pegg calls 'Left 4 Winchester' idea "absolutely awesome"

Actor man Simon Pegg has given his 'blessing' to a bunch of gamers looking to dump the Shaun of the Dead film experience into Valve's Left 4 Dead as a custom campaign to slug through.

It's got everything a L4D campaign needs. The modders intend to call it 'Left 4 Winchester' which refers to the Winchester pub that Pegg and co. must battle their way to in the film.

The problem with any such shameless love letter to a licensed property is that, well, it's licensed. The team behind the effort were already getting cold feet over legal issues.

Simon Pegg however thinks it'll be "absolutely awesome!" He acknowledges the rights to Shaun of the Dead as belonging to Universal but offers hope, saying "we will do what we can," possibly referring to himself and co-star Nick Frost? Hopefully Pegg can give those suits the scare and let the community enjoy a zombie filled gauntlet to the Winchester.

It's not a Robero trilogy HenoKutus - it's more a parody or zombie film with more humour in it. Spin-off might be a better word.
