Disastrous day 1 update corrupts PSN copies of Resident Evil 6

Gamers who purchased Resident Evil 6 as a digital download from the PlayStation Network have found the game unplayable due to a day one update.

In order to play the game, users have to delete the game from their hard drive and download it again. However, they won't be able to play online, nor will they be able to access, the game's online stat tracking and reward service.

Capcom has apologized in a statement reading, "The temporary fix to ensure people can enjoy Resident Evil 6 today as intended is to ask those people to uninstall the game (only if they originally saw an error message) and reinstall the game."

"Please note, however, these people won't be able to play against disc owners on a temporary basis. We are working with SCEE (Sony) to fix this issue and a patch is imminent to fix the issue."

Gamers playing the retail disc version are unaffected.

Yea automatic updates can be a bit risky sometimes. I was lucky so far when it comes to steam updates, never really had any issues.

Only with Origin on PC you can have serious problems but Steam is defenitly the best network that pc has to offer, all the games should go on steam, its stable and easy to use.
