New details about PS3 version of Mass Effect 1 revealed

Some new details about the PlayStation 3 version of the first Mass Effect have been revealed by external producer Ryan Warden, in a series of tweets.

Warden made the following notes on Twitter:

* No plans to release Mass Effect 1 physically on PS3 as a standalone title
* Edge of Reality is working closely with BioWare on the title (Dragon Age: Origins console developer)
* “Performance feels really good overall”
* The team wants to retain the Mass Effect 1 experience while making some targeted fixes
* Game features improved texture popping and better performance on PS3
* Uses the Mass Effect 1 engine with Mass Effect 2 PS3 touch-ups
* These improvements are specific to the PS3 (360 won’t get the performance upgrades)

Warden did not answer, however, what kind of deal Microsoft made with Electronic Arts to allow their game to be on PlayStation 3.

One stipulation seems to be a limited time exclusivity of the Mass Effect Trilogy on PC and Xbox 360, however. The bundle will be released for those platforms on the 6th November, while the PS3 version has no release date yet.

Probably realised that as of now it is utterly pointless and no one is going to play through ME1 then 2 and 3 again.

On the other hand, I still think 1 is my favourite. 2 is epic and has a great final rush, but I miss being in huge areas and the story is better in the first. Saren is such a great villain.

It's still a nice series as long as they put a warning label on it about how inconsequential your actions are regarding the ending. That and lower the price by 50%, it's not worth any more than that.

Finally Mass Effect 1 on PS3,goddamn time and the endings are not that bad at all, there are a lot more games that have more stupid endings, with Mass Effect you have three endings to choose from instead of one or two depending on the game, hope that they put all dlc for the first one in the trilogy though.

Yea but one of the main features of this series was how your actions have an effect, they even had save game import feature and bragged about it really really loudly.

The ME3 endings ignore ALL player decisions outside pressing the button in the last 2 minutes, everyone had the exact same 3 endings.
No matter what you did before it was all irrelevant, everyone had the exact same 3 endings completely separated from 3 games worth of decisions.

That's what makes the endings suck for most of those that hate them.

the first Mass Effect has the most choices that impact the second but its only minor side quests, the second you can choose to destroy or save the collector base, also a couple of minor sidequests but i have to admit for example if you sell Legion in the second ,you will see him again in the third. If none of your charachters died in the second you have extra quests, destroying the collector base or not in the second has no extra mission in the third.
They made some mistakes buts its still the best scifi series i have played and the game engine is rather perfect and you can play with your buddies online coop wich in the former mass effects you couldn't do.
So waying the mistakes against the extras its still one of my favorite games for the moment, and you have to admit they giving a lot of fine mp dlc free when other companies ask a lot of money for them.

"but i have to admit for example if you sell Legion in the second ,you will see him again in the third"

Nope. The Geth you deal with is Geth VI, not Legion. It even says "I am not Legion!"

You could SELL Legion? O_o

Why would you do that?!....anyway, I had him in my third game just fine.

Legion or Geth VI,it doesn't matter the quest remains the same if you played with Legion or sold him in the second.Well at least if you play the first Mass Effect you can kick Conrad Verners ass once again or you can kill Anolais and Gianni Parsini and kick some thresher maws ass if you are Renegade enough
