2K Games is poised to see the fruits of Firaxis Games' labour flood their coffers with gamer cash as XCOM: Enemy Unknown is painfully within reach. A launch trailer is, erm, launched.

Entitled 'Our Last Hope', 2K wants our Earth patriotism swelling deep within our mighty gamer bosom. The trailer has plenty of teasing action as it gears up for release next week.

Recently Firaxis' Jake Solomon tried peddling it in-store; it didn't go so well. XCOM: Enemy Unknown releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 9th in the US, 12th in EU.

Hmm I need to stop watching its stuff. Frankly, I'm not ok with the battle's being faster then they were. Feels like you can finish it too fast. And when you're shooting at someone, it doesn't feel real. May need to get used to it. Hopefully those wont be a problem.

My gripe was the demo only 4 set camera angles - shouldn't have been a problem to add a free 360 degree rotable camera for PC and I hope that would be the first mod or change.

playing the demo I got a feel that it has been scaled back for both a newer audience, console huggers and the more casual gameplay plague...

Still - this also appears to be the first X-Com game that actually feels like ti will follow UFOEU and TFTD :)

Definately going to splatter some alien goo over the streets! ;)
