|Capcom confirms on-disc DLC for Resident Evil 6 following fan mod|

Capcom acknowledges that there is "on-disc data" specifically related to future Resident Evil 6 content, which must combine with "downloaded data" at launch. A fan mod exposed the content.
There will be announcements made for RE6 DLC in the coming months but "virtually all such content" will not be on-disc, except "one piece of content" that is partially on-disc for "technical reasons".
The publisher has been under fire many times before as they locked content on-disc and then subsequently sold DLC, which effectively just unlocked the data.
A YouTube user by the name of posted a number of videos showing unreleased DLC for Resident Evil 6 that was accessed through modding the game. Capcom have responded to the clips by confirming that some on-disc data does relate to future DLC plans, but didn't elaborate on any specifics.
"We still have unannounced DLC for RE6 that will be revealed in the coming months and while virtually all such content will not be on the disc there will be one piece of content, that for technical reasons, requires the use of a combination of newly downloaded data and data that is included on the retail game disc," said Capcom.
Anger erupted earlier this year when exclusive PS3 character data was found buried on the Xbox 360 version of Street Fighter x Tekken. Capcom has defended its on-disc DLC policy before now claiming it provides more "efficient" and "flexible" gameplay. They claim there is "effectively no distinction" between DLC data locked on disc to be unlocked later and actually downloading new data, "other than delivery mechanism."
Gamers vent outrage at having to pay to unlock on-disc content as they argue that since they've already paid for the game disc, all game data on it should rightly be at their disposal and not held to ransom later. Many developers have been found to simply bury DLC and pre-order bonus data in game code.
Resident Evil 6 released on Xbox 360 and PS3 October 2nd, with PC still in development.
