EA Sports has warned players of FIFA 13 that their Ultimate Team is being targeted by opportunists looking to "steal your account information." The publisher has posted a security guide for users.

They warn of the usual things like that EA "never ask you for you login", and to be mindful of harmful phishing emails or "copycat websites". Having a decent password is another priority.

"The majority of people playing Ultimate Team are honest," begins EA Sports' Ultimate Team account safety blog. They offer a rather comprehensive list of points to mull over.

"Unfortunately, there are a very small percentage of individuals who are cheats, and they are looking to steal your account information." Some of the advice is rather obvious, like EA never requiring you to send them account details. "There are no exceptions to this rule," they add. Any email asking for details is "a scam."

Check out the full account safety guide from EA Sports for FIFA 13 Ultimate Team. It's unfortunate that phishing emails targeting the games industry have become so widespread. MMOs get the brunt of it naturally.
