Bethesda is warning gamers not to install the Xbox 360 version of Doom 3 BFG Edition to the hard drive. Not only will it not improve performance, but it'll lock players out of the classic Doom titles included with the game.

According to Bethesda's Matt Grandstaff, "We recommend not installing the game" as it will prevent the launch of both Doom and Doom 2. He added, "there is no performance advantage to installing the game to your hard drive."

I don't know the Xbox that well, but this sounds quite stupid to me... isn't it?

Woops. Bit of an oversight by Bethesda, and I don't know if I quite believe the "...not improve performance" part. I'd seriously question that and just see it as an excuse.
