The Xbox Live Dashboard update began its launch last week, as the update is being staggered region by region so that Xbox Live doesn't get stressed by heavy usage.

The only thing not included with the update is the touted Smartglass app.

That will change as the app will be released this week on Marketplace, PC and mobile devices like iOS, Android and Windows Phone on the 26th October, the same day as the release of Windows 8.

The games and apps that will initially support Smartglass include:

Games

* Ascend
* Dance Central 3
* Forza Horizon
* Halo Waypoint
* Home Run Stars
* Karaoke
* Kinect Sesame Street TV
* Prima Games

Sports

* ESPN
* NBA Game Time
* UFC

Entertainment Apps

* Elections 2012
* HBO GO
* MSN
* NBC News
* NOW TV
* Slacker Radio
* TODAY
* Univision

Microsoft also released a video showing off how Smartglass would work.

More of a gadget than anything useful really.

Well, it's not even a gadget. It's an app that allows you to use your iOS, Android, Windows Phone, etc with your 360. It's pretty handy, and it doesn't require you to buy anything.
