505 Games and Rebellion today announced that it's released online multiplayer support, free of charge, for anyone that owns their European World War II action game, Sniper Elite V2.

The Multiplayer Expansion DLC offers 4 new gameplay modes (Deathmatch/ Team Deathmatch/ Distance King/ Team Distance King) across 6 maps (Mountain Pass, Quarry, Graves, OpernPlatz, Church and Kreuzberg) and will support 2-8 players via Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network.

"Rebellion is very excited to release this multiplayer support for console" said Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion. "We have always believed in supporting and building our games’ communities as best we can. This is in part to say thank you to dedicated gamers for buying our games, and also to say keep an eye out for our next big Sniper Elite announcement".

In addition to the Multiplayer expansion DLC, a brand new weapons pack DLC is also available from today for use online and offline. Featuring the US M1 Carbine with its improved rate of fire and high ammo count; German MP44 that boasts a high rate of fire and further effective range and finally the high powered, British made Webley Mk6 Revolver with its very distinctive feel. All three weapons are available as a single download priced at 240 Microsoft points/$3.00/£3.19.

Maps full of pesky snipers....no thanks. As with the first, MP matches tend to be grindfests with players trying to outwit and outstay one another.

would only put like max 5 players per map just to avoid problems as for single player its only nice if you play on the hardest settings really but we all like the slowmo xray vision impact on our target don't we? :P
