Blizzard's Battle.net has revealed the next instalment to StarCraft 2, the Heart of the Swarm expansion, will be available to RTS fans March 12th next year. Their online store priced a bundle at 44.99.

That's if you wanted to get Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm together at a discount of 42%. There's a Digital Deluxe Edition which nets bonus in-game items, including a WoW pet.

It's understood that Blizzard will be making a more official announcement about the March release date soon. The Battle.net date was spotted by Eurogamer.

Blizzard have also posted a 'Heart of the Swarm Presale FAQ' to answer questions about the Digital Deluxe edition, and other salient queries. Included in the Digital Deluxe package:

? Three StarCraft II Swarm-themed Battle.net portraits
? StarCraft II Zerg Ultralisk “Torrasque” skin
? World of Warcraft Baneling Battle Pet
? Diablo III “Blade Wings” item - Queen of Blades-styled wings for Diablo III heroes
? Diablo III Zerg banner sigil

StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm adds the Zerg story campaign to the mix, with a third and possibly final addition to the sequel RTS named as 'Legacy of the Void' which follows the Protoss.

Yea, it takes them way too long for these expansions, worst case scenario I'd expect them to have yearly releases :(.
Specially when you consider that the game is already finished and that they "only" need too make the new story.

Looking forward to this one. This gives me enough time to build up my game, and have fun with the campaign afterwards.

Not too eager - Both SC2 and Diablo 3 made the perfect record kept by Blizzard pretty broken and sad for me. I don't like thje always online stuff - I don't like the over competetive setup and making e-sport gaming only from it. I like to have SP fun and then to have a game with whomever from wherever of my choice and so far - not so easy and Blizzard isn't helping me achieve that.
So I will hold my money and read up on reviews for SP on this one before I get it...

I'm not worrying about the quality of the campaign at all, I still play SC1 from time to time just for that reason :).

Worth it for the campaign only, if WOL is any measure. And I'm sure it will reinvigorate my multiplayer ^^

I have to agree, that it wasn't needed to make it online only. The game is great, but not all people enjoy playing online, and not all people have internet to support this.

Not online all the time - I mean for MP and such sure - but for playing the campaign? I want to be able to game on my laptop and that laptop I take places - places without internet connections sufficient for playing games...
I also don't like the new system of regionalize players. Simply don't like it. Perhaps it has gotten better now but I no longer play SC2...
