BioWare is offering a unique compensation for gamers who found a Mass Effect 2 disc as disc 2 of their Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 purchase - the developer will give those affected a free copy of Mass Effect Trilogy.

According to the BioWare blog, "Rumor has it that about a thousand customers who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC today were also treated to a surprise copy of Mass Effect 2. If you were one of the affected, chances are you thought it was a mistake, but we prefer to think that it was an omen, and when the universe talks, you should listen.

“If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help.”

To claim Mass Effect Trilogy, the affected player must send a photo with them and them copy of the game visible to community@bioware.com.

That would be a very strange Omen... in technical terms, a very odd mistake.

Nice gesture - but not too sure that so many people would want to have Origin installed - and if you have Origin - chances are that you already own the Mass effect games due to that well - Origin give aways of the like 10 games that are on - somehow tend to get stale pretty quickly...

Now that is a good gesture. Bobby Kottick must have been on his yacht and out of cell tower range when that decision was made, going nuts in his office later when told.
What is wrong with Origin, Wolfy? I use it, when I want to, but you don't need it to play the games (unlike Steam). You CAN have it running in the background, but it's not cumpulsory.
