Cevat Yerli "would be very happy" if TimeSplitters petition reaches 300k

President Cevat Yerli of Crysis developer Crytek is "a big fan" of TimeSplitters 2, so he personally would love a "newborn HD version or what not." Business wise it doesn't make much sense... yet.

The current petition calling for a HD collection "doesn’t look that convincing" with just over 36k signatures. Should it reach the goal of 300k then Yerli would "put in front of decision makers" at Crytek.

Only when those signatures pile high does he believe the HD collection project stands a chance of convincing his fellow big wigs at Crytek to commit resources.

"If the petition picks up it will be an even better argument for us," Cevat Yerli told Game Informer in an interview, referring to this online petition. "At a personal level, I’m a big fan of Timesplitters 2. For me, I would love to see the game out there, as a newborn HD version or what not. I definitely would love to see it," he continued.

"But the case of turning this into a business decision is still difficult, despite the fact that there was a Twitter request feed to test the waters. And now the petition, it just seems to be as we expected, as it was when it was Free Radical."

It's those pesky accountants mumbling about profit loss projections that keep it from happening.

"There’s a very hardcore market that is very verbal about it. I would love to see this, and if the fan base approves a further petition. They’re trying to call 300,000 voices, I think it’s at two or three thousand right now."

"If they could get the petition together I would be very happy to put in front of decision makers in the company, the key stakeholders, and say “Look here. This is how it is, let’s make it now."" Now the ball lies in the court of the TimeSplitter fans that need to shore up those signature numbers for there to even stand a chance of Crytek saying yes.

300k is a tall order, particularly as many of the younger gamers today wouldn't have heard of it (or care for that matter). Just make it if you want to, Crytek. I'm sure you have some loose change in your other trousers.
