Far Cry 3 "does not support dedicated servers," confirms Ubisoft

No, sorry, there'll be no dedicated server support for Far Cry 3's online mayhem. Ubisoft community manager 'MSV-Vextor' let us know via their official discussion forums. I'm sure you feel violated.

At the very least you're now depressed. Far Cry 2 also missed out on dedicated server supports, with third-parties eventually running unofficial multiplayer matches.

"The online experience does not support dedicated servers," posted Ubisoft, presumably whilst twirling their evil moustache. It's sad news for the PC gamer brigade.

Far Cry 3 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC November 29th in EU, December 4th in US.

Well this is more of an SP game anyways so it doesnt bother me too much, but it's still not a cool move.

Indeed, mostly a SP game, but still... I mean, was there ever a game released where people went "YES! No dedicated servers! I love matchmaking with slow connections!"

Ubisoft, you've done it again.

I don't get this. Though I agree that the game is more single player based, it is still not cool of them to do this.
