The Kickstarter campaign for Sir, You Are Being Hunted hit its target of £40,000 a while back but recently backers have managed to pledge £80,000 which held a stretch goal for multiplayer.
While not available in the initial release of the game, developer Big Robot will launch it as a free add-on for backers later. 4 days remain for the campaign, and there's one stretch goal left.
If it reaches £100,000 then the community unlocks character customisation that will "benefit both the single-player game and the multi-player" add-on through a creation screen.
"Multiplayer will NOT ship with the initial release of the game," warned Big Robot. "We stated this in the original stretch goal text, but we wanted to be extra clear: multiplayer will be an add-on that will come after we've finished the main game. Single-player is the focus for this project, and multiplayer will be free to all backers at a later date."
As for character customisation, "what this means is a character creation screen where you can name your avatar, customise their appearance – moustaches, tweeds, boots, monocles, and other accessories – so that you have a unique character in the game world," described the latest .
Multiplayer will have four players aiding one another to escape the island alive but only one player can actually leave. That means the others can nobly sacrifice themselves or turn on one another when freedom is imminent.
