Director Guillermo del Toro's cancelled horror title InSane may have a second life, as the filmmaker has stated that he had shopped the game to developers and the title is back in development.

According to del Toro, "We were going to go to a lot of developers after THQ, but it seems like we’re going to be developing it after the first meeting we had. I can't disclose where it was, but we went to a great developer on the first meeting and it seems that they’re picking it up because they love the package."

del Toro warned that InSane will take a while, however.

"We were two years away. The development span of a game like this is three years. We put a good year and a half into it and we have the universe quite figured out, but we are now going to take that and start doing all the leg work with coding it, creating the engine, and starting to test it," he revealed, "It’s going to take a good two years of modeling and rendering and creating the environments and all of that. The basic tenants of the game is that it’s created, but now we’re going to need to start actually making it."

THQ had announced it had dropped the game back in August.

Great news that this game is back into production. Was quite disappointed that it got dropped, but now things are okay again. I really hope that I won't be disappointed.

Hope it's better than his last film "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark", otherwise THQ were wise to drop it. Del Toro's name doesn't carry the weight it used to.

I unfortunately don't know him at all... unless of course I might have seen some of his films without even knowing it.

"Pan's Labyrinth" is his most known film, though he also did "Hellboy II" and has produced/presented a few as well.
