Valve has announced in a forum post that Defense of the Ancients 2 (DOTA2) would have live Australian servers in January 2013.

According to the community manager in a post, "The equipment for our Australian (not Austrian) datacenter has just arrived in Sydney. It will be a few weeks to get this racked and configured. But we should be up and running by January 2013."

With Australian servers, gamers in the region won't be plagued by bad ping matches.
