Microsoft has been denied a trademark renewal of Killer Instinct, Rare's 1994 coin-op fighting game that was released on the Super NES in 1995. The reason the trademark was refused renewal was curiously due to a short-lived 2005 television show of the same name. According to the court, granting the trademark renewal could "cause confusion". Microsoft is appealing the decision. Source: Game Informer | |
