Assassin's Creed 3 progress under threat from Xbox 360 Hidden Secrets DLC

Reports from Assassin's Creed 3 gamers are coming in that the recently launched Hidden Secrets DLC is causing player progression data to be erased. Given the size of the game it's quite alarming.

According to Xbox 360 users, after acquiring The Hidden Secrets their in-game money was wiped along with their main campaign progress; however side missions remained unaffected.

Other features also were left unmolested by the quirky bug. It seems, for now, that the Xbox 360 version of Assassin's Creed 3 is the only one being victimised.

December 4th saw the early release of The Hidden Secrets DLC for Season pass owners, which adds new missions, costumes for Connor and items to wield. December 11th sees the release of the new downloadable add-on available for everyone else. Luckily Ubisoft are "able to reproduce this issue at the studio and are working on a fix/workaround."

"From what we can tell, this problem seems to be rare and should generally only affect a very small number of players. That said, we're taking the speedy and complete resolution of this very seriously," announced UbiGabe.

The community developer reveals how to 'avoid the bug': "Do not load your saved AC3 game while the DLC is downloading in the background. This appears to be the key trigger for this bug. You can do anything else you want to do, just don't load up your saved game and play it while the DLC is downloading."

PS3 and PC gamers should be completely fine with The Hidden Secrets DLC. This bundle includes all the pre-order bonuses that were provided by various retailer outlets, adding in total around a hour's playtime.

Apparently not. All they care about is money. Nothing else matters to them anymore.

yeah short term profit well see how that one ends on the long run... and to keep up being strong on the long run you need quality games...

That is true. Even so, there are fools out there who will buy the games just to buy the games.

yeah those people who show they are sharing 99.9% DNA with chimansees lol at least pretend to have the intellegence i end up saying -.-

but we all know the reputation EA has and they are suffering under it and eventually they will fall i think i remember a review sometime ago they did post loss of money so it will happen eventually to the other companies aswell in due time and that equals the long term

By and large, they, along with everyone else, will only realize their mistake when it is too late.

You haven't? Why ever not? How could you not get it? That's insane!
I don't have it either.

Why would you play a game while it's downloading content? Might be just a PC thing, but you never know if your savegame will even be compatible.
Anyway, pretty shoddy work by Ubislag. I think it has a lot to do with the transient nature of videogame programming. They come and go like fruit pickers in Summer.

You may be on to something there, herodotus.

The only reason I hadn't bought the DLC early is because i'm saving cash, was gonna get it in time for the Tyranny of King Washington. I contemplated it when I heard about The Hidden Secrets, until I realised what's in it (i.e. most of the pre-orders I already have from my Join or Die Edition).

Smart choice maybe?
