A very wise move.
A buggy or basic feature incomplete launch is the last thing that a f2p game wants. First impressions matter and those are already stacked against f2p games right from the start so they actually need to prove themselves even harder.

Even so, I played Hawken when it was still in Alpha and let me tell you, it was waaaaayyyyyyyyyy better than Mechwarrior Online is now.

:)

Yea, MechWarrior Online guys really screwed up by launching too early, by two months at least if not more.

I still have faith in them though, it's way too early to start abandoning the ship :)

Well I certainly wouldn't choose cryEngine 3 for a MMO game like MWO. Sure, it looks beautiful, but it also demands a pretty powerful machine to run it.

It's a gamer's game :)

But still, any gaming PC from the last 4 years should be able to run it decently, not maxed out but still decently.

It's sure to cost them the entire casual market though.

It's not THAT demanding. PC hardware has been pretty damn stagnant the last few years.
