UI patch coming to Far Cry 3

One feature that gamers have complained about regarding Far Cry 3 has been a user interface that obstructed gameplay on the screen.

According to Ubisoft, "Based on feedback from both press and fans, the Far Cry 3 production team is working on a patch that will allow you to toggle most HUD/UI elements based on player preference.

"The patch will also avoid issues encountered in the .dll hack that might create a mission walkthrough break (missing QTE prompts, critical information, etc;)," the publisher added. "The team is excited about how the Far Cry 3 community and fans of the game are enjoying themselves, and finding new ways to experience the Rook Islands."

Far Cry 3 was released last week on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The game sounds quite promising, but it is going to be a long while before I get to this game.

Nice to see that they are listening and fixing things that the community points out. This game deserves no less.

Do my eyes deceive me? Is Ubislag finally once more listening to PC gamers after a very long hiatus? Hells bells, I might actually end up getting this as I'd previously sworn off Ubi titles since "IL2: Cliffs of Dover" and "Silent Hunter 5" destroyed the pedigrees of their forebears.

Well, if you think about it, not fixing this would cause them to lose revenue and ultimately lose money. Question is, did they do it for us or for themselves? I'm inclined to think the latter but you never know.

The developers themselves obviously care, it all comes down to management and their willingness/ability to give them some more time/money to fix things.

They better care, or I just might not consider ever buying their games..

Soon enough you'll be over 25 and not their target audience anymore anyways, so as long as you give them their money now they've already won :)

I don't give them my money anyway. Not unless it's either completely worth it or if they deserve it. And so far, neither is true.

Well according to your maths nocc, I'm twice the age of their target audience. No wonder I hate the basterds. As of 2011, the average age for a video game player is 37*, so Ubi is way off the general target mark. Most gamers, however, 43%, to be exact, are in the 18-49 year old age bracket, while only 19% are over 50 years of age.

Hooray! I'm in that 43%!

...and I'll soon be in the 19%. Oh, well at least I'm hanging in there and taking on young guns in "BF3". Little do they know they are being pwwned by a tank driven by someone their father's age (or even Grandfather for some - eek!).

Wouldn't that be a shocker?
"Damn! That guy killed you that many times? Man, he's good."
"He's as old as my grandpa."
^ He no longer has friends.

You could get a lot of reverence by revealing to people you pwn that you are probably about twice their age.

Hell, I'd respect someone twice my age that can kick my ass at StarCraft. But, then, StarCraft is my game so that's not too likely. I used to be ranked in the top 50 in the world...until I stopped playing on Battle.net due to my account getting muted for no reason whatsoever. If there was a reason, I was not notified about it.
