Although development for End of Nations has switched from Petroglyph to Trion Worlds, the studio says that it's still excited about the release of the project in a statement that confirms the developer has laid off 19 staff.

"Petroglyph Games Inc., an innovative studio that has created and launched multiple successful games over the years, has concluded its work as developer on End of Nations for publisher Trion Worlds. As a result, Petroglyph has reduced its workforce by 19 employees." read the statement.

"The team at Petroglyph is very excited about End of Nations, a title which earned more than 50 nominations and awards while in development, and looks forward to its upcoming release."

Petroglyph are now working on new projects for 2014 and have moved into a new office in Las Vegas with a workforce of just over 90.

The last game Petroglyph released was Battle for Graxia, a free team-based player vs. player (or PvP) online game. The developer is based known for Star Wars: Empire at War, which deputed in 2006 for PC.

We'll keep you informed on any further updates from Petroglyph.

I applied for the beta but I never actually played it, I wish it wasn't pvp only.

I used to enjoy the RTS's by Petroglyph. Nothing earth-shakingly brilliant about them, but fun nonetheless. With "EoN" changing hands I might just be taking a pass as I don't really know of Trion Worlds.

I'm with you on that one, herodotus.

Although, what concerns me is that it's not even 2013 and they're already prepping for 2014. This world is way too rushed. We really need to slow down.
And another point of concer; if the world ends in ten days, why should they be preparing for 2014?
