By the beard of Zeus! 22cans' Project GODUS as gone and achieved its £450,000 goal on Kickstarter with over 24 hours left to soak up any more generosity from backers. Stretch goals anyone?

Already GODUS is on its second one at £475k, with the first having been at £460k. That means we've unlocked 3 additional single and multiplayer modes, and building our own sect.

Should the fanatical flock manage another £10k then the game's story would be penned by BAFTA winner James Leach, who wrote Black & White, Populous and more.

It was late last night when GODUS hit that juicy milestone, with 22cans' website hit hard by the mass amount of traffic.

"Just a short message from everyone at 22cans...thank you for being so generous and helpful during these difficult times and pledging. We going to use every penny of your money to make Godus a truly great game," said the studio. Now in these final hours of the campaign its time to cross our fingers and hope more stretch goals get checked off.

If James Leach comes aboard my interest will heighten exponentially.

That would be great yes :).
It's also almost impossible not to reach that milestone with more than a day left, co-op is very close as well.
