Capcom is raising the bar in how many people it takes to produce an AAA game by announcing that it have more than 400 people involved in the production of Resident Evil 5. Gamekyo is reporting on the extremes that Capcom has gone to in the production of this game, by quoting a Capcom report as saying that the "staff visited Africa, a new backdrop in the series, to experience the real Africa where the contrast between light and the darkness is stunning" and that it has "more than 400 people including company employees and outside contractors working on (Resident Evil 5)".

The site goes on to report on the ambition goals that justify the increased resources for this title by saying that Capcom's goal is to sell 2.3 million units of Resident Evil 5.

I have always loved the Resident Evil series and this one looks like it will be as amazing as the others were. Great work.

Let's see 2.3 million times $75? Or maybe more?
Quite a sum!

I wonder how much the 400 that are working on the game are going to make.
And what a huge task, to divide the work between 400 individuals.

Africa's going to be very crowded with Far Cry 2 set there, and who knows what else. As this will be a cross-platform release (with a PC version, yay), its' no wonder the production staff is numerous, but not record-breaking.

2.3 mills? That is double-platinum. Not many games achieved that one.

Well maybe with 400 people working on the game, one of them might finally figure out a way to Not make the game clumsy. I played Resident Evil 4 on the PS2 and I never could figure out what all the hype was about. RE4 wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I had more fun with Resident Evil: Zero on theGameCube than I did with RE4. So I don't think I'll bother with this one as long as they're making Silent Hill games.
