En Masse Entertainment has announced that their action-MMO Tera will be going free-to-play, rebranding as Tera: Rising. The rebranded MMO will feature in-game purchases for "elite" benefit options.

In other words, new players have no content restrictions at standard status, save only having two PCs per server. with access to two characters per server. Current subscribers will gain "founder" status which grant exclusive privileges. Those include 8 PCs per server, four bank tabs, a "Founder" title, and the exclusive Terminus mount.

Elite status is gained by the normal $14.99/month subscription, which will confer extra dungeon rewards, 10 bonus quests per day, a daily delivery of items, an elite mount, in-game store discounts, and waived auction house fees.

Gamers interested in checking out the action-MMO can visit the official site here.

Well tera did come out at the same time as GW 2 and while it is a good game it can`t compare with GW 2 due to its subscription fee especially. However i do not like the way the free-to-play model looks like, the elite status guys get a lot of extras, enough to say that they are buying power and that`s a big no-no.

Birds in non-battle worthy skimpy outfits with huge swords or twee arrows...yipee. Might check it out.
