PS3 outshipping Xbox 360 for first time ever

The IDC has reported that Sony's PS3 console is outshipping Xbox 360 for the first time ever.

PS3 shipments are suggested to be 77 million worldwide, while the Xbox 360 has numbers of 76 million. Sony will be pleased with the progress, especially since the PS3 launched a year after Microsoft's console.

It's worth noting these are not official numbers from either company.
