Kalypso Media announces that their "city-conquest/tactical RPG" with a Gangster theme, Omerta - City of Gangsters, will be fitting cement shoes this February 1st on Xbox 360 and PC.

There's a Mac version due early this year as well, from the Tropico 3 & 4 developer. Kalypso also boast "cross-platform multiplayer" for PC and Mac with "full support" for Steam.

They've released a new trailer showing off some gameplay for the Mac version of the simulator. Omerta is set in 1920's Atlantic City, New Jersey where we climb the ranks.

The day-to-day running of our underworld empire is in real-time whilst combat happens in a turn-based style. Cover and stealth are said to play major roles in taking out rivals. More information about Omerta - City of Gangsters is available on the official website. The game is available now to pre-purchase via Steam.

After a rather pretty disappointing turn out with "port Royale 3" (though I AM trying to engage with the game), and knowing Kalypso as I do I am hesitant with this one. Yes they did well with "Tropico", but the 4th iteration was a major let down for anyone looking for a vast overhaul of "T3".
This does look good though, but then so does "Port Royale 3"....etc.

Excellent link, thanks Dan. of all the "actors" he chose the one he did looks like Mark Ruffalo ("Zodiac", "The Avengers"). Should have one looking like Christopher Lambert from "The Sicilian" or Bobby DeNiro from "Godfather II".
Playing in Atlantic City, do I get to be Nuccy Thompson (just reading "Boardwalk Empire", the non-fiction book the series was based on)?
I just might get into this after all, depending on state on release and pricing.

Must set aside singlet and shorts, slowly moving overhead fan and half-drawn window shades to get in the mood. Oh, and put the radio on calling the races.

Busy watching "ANNO 1404" at present, having just completed my first submersible mission in "ANNO 2070". Never reallly got into "ANNO 1701"...probably left it too late and the graphics were and are pretty drab now.
Will definitely be looking further into "Omerta" though, Dan.
