Mojang has revealed that the Xbox Live Arcade version of their block building MMO Minecraft actually outsold its PC counterpart in the year 2012.

According to the developer, 5,002,370 copies of the XBLA version were moved in 2012, handily surpassing the 4,177,843 total for the PC version, despite the XBLA version costing more. The inexpensive $7.99 Android Pocket Edition sold 5,899,727 in 2012.

Total sales in 2012 were 15,079,940 across all platforms.
