Hirai: PS4 may launch after next-gen Microsoft console

It seems that Sony may let Microsoft release its next generation console (Durango? Xbox 720? Xbox Infinity?) before releasing the PlayStation 4.

In an interview with the London Times, Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai stated, “why go first when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?”

Of course, the Xbox 360 launched a year before the PlayStation 3, which struggled to find any sort of footing for years (though that might have been due to its $599 price tag.)

This is not the PS4.

Probably 12 months after Microsoft, and then there's the price tag as you've pointed out Jonah. What wonderful selling point will they present us with this time? We had Blu-ray last time, what 3D this time or better yet, virtual reality.

I just hope neither consoles are rushed to completion in order to beat its competitor.
