Kotaku is claiming to have the system specs for the PlayStation 4 developer kit that has been sent to studios, and states that the PS4 will also feature an all-new controller.

According to the site, the dev kits have the following specs:

* System Memory: 8GB
* Video Memory: 2.2 GB
* CPU: 4x Dual-Core AMD64 "Bulldozer" (so, 8x cores)
* GPU: AMD R10xx
* Ports: 4x USB 3.0, 2x Ethernet
* Drive: Blu-Ray
* HDD: 160GB
* Audio Output: HDMI & Optical, 2.0, 5.1 & 7.1 channels

In addition, developers have been working with both the Sixaxis and DualShock 3 controllers as well as the Movie - but a new controller has been reportedly been involved called "Orbis Development Tool." The controller allegedly has all of the features of a normal controller, but also includes a touch pad.

The controller makes sense, it's consistent with what Sony's been saying I think...as for thr hardware, that's anyone's guess.

Sony really likes those cores a lot :)
But why would they go with 4x2 cores instead of 1x8 cores? This part seems a bit weird and kinda makes this look like just a rumor to me.
4 CPUs use a lot more power than one.

Well they don't need it that's for sure. I'd have gone for something like an logical 8 core intel chip, 8 logical cores. It would be on a par with PC usage and more than powerful enough.

Probably cuz AMD is cheaper, and consoles do not need corei7 x3990...

But AMD also makes 8 core CPUs, why would 4 dual cores make sense instead of a single eight core?
