Codemasters: GRiD 2 retails May 31st

The sequel to Race Driver: GRID will be arriving at the end of May, announces Codemasters. They also unveil a Special Edition that offers "extra content, redeemable via download" for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

There is also a Brands Hatch Edition for UK gamers, including two additional packs: McLaren Racing Pack and Head Start Pack. GRiD 2 features an "entirely distinct and extensive" multiplayer.

The race title from Codemasters includes race cars spanning four decades, and traverses the world featuring race tracks in Paris, Abu Dhabi, Chicago and more.

The Brands Hatch Edition is available in the UK via GAME. The bonus packs are described as follows:

McLaren Racing Pack
Receive the exclusive McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Special Edition car to race in single-player, multiplayer and a special online event; plus expand the game with two new routes around the Brands Hatch GP circuit.

Head Start Pack
Receive the exclusive Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT car to race in single-player, multiplayer and enjoy discounts in the Car Upgrades Store in online game modes and a unique RaceNet bonus.

GRiD 2 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC May 31st.

"Grid", "GT" and "VRally" are the only titles that have me always thinking it's time to get a PS again. Might get a steering wheel instead, as I haven't had one of those since Microprose had their F1 games purring and roaring in the nifty nineties.
