Microsoft denies Halo games release on Steam

Yesterday, the Steam registry showed Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3 being upcoming content to be released on Steam, which raised a few eyebrows since Halo 3 had not publicly been developed on PC, and that Microsoft would be using rival Valve's digital distribution.

While some have admitted that their games are indeed hitting Steam, Microsoft has firmly denied Halo on Steam, stating, "We currently do not have plans to release any Halo titles on Steam."

It remains to be scene if "currently" means "no comment" - stay tuned.

That's a confirmation if ever I heard one, be it for Steam as it is or the Steam Console that's being developed.

Whatever, if they don't want to sell the game to an audience of millions that's their choice :)

I agree, they could really make a lot of money by using Steam for their sales, but oh well, it is their loss. I don't care much about the Halo series.

I would have quite liked to at least have the opportunity to try the RTS, what was it "HALO Wars"? Then again, there are plenty of "HALO" total conversion Mods for other RTS's such as "SoaSE: Rebellion" in the offering.

i didn't like any of the Halo games,i played the first three on Xbox, but they are just too easy and in my opinion for kiddies, maybe the last Halo would be better but i doubt it
