During Activision-Blizzard's conference call, the heads of the publisher confirmed that there will be a new Call of Duty title for 2013.

CEO Eric Hirshberg stated during the call, "The Call of Duty franchise continues to set the bar for innovation and we expect the new Call of Duty game in development for 2013 to raise that bar even higher."

"There is increased volatility this year due to the ongoing console transition, which makes predicting the future more challenging than during normal years in the cycle. For Call of Duty, consistent with our past practices, we are planning for the mainline release in Q4 to be down versus 2012," CFO Dennis Durkin added.

In other words, they feel Call of Duty 2013 won't be as big a blockbuster as Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

The conference also made reference to Call of Duty Online, something that the pubisher had announced back in 2009. Some believed that it became Call of Duty: Elite, but it seems that it is a planned massively multiplayer shooter. Stay tuned.

LOL

They certainly set the bar for making money but CoD hasn't exactly been know for innovation over the last few iterations.

Hahaha, why even confirm it? You can be more sure that there will be a """"new"""" (notice the quotes) CoD than that the sun doesn't explode. Yeah, that sure.
