The developers at Big Huge Games just can't catch a break. After being embroiled in the financial disaster that was 38 Studios last year and getting dissolved, members from the dev team were picked up by Epic Games to form Epic Baltimore, later Impossible Games.

However, today Epic founder Tim Sweeney has closed Impossible Games, announcing, "When former members of Big Huge Games approached Epic last year, we saw the opportunity to help a great group of people while putting them to work on a project that needed a team. It was a bold initiative and the Impossible folks made a gallant effort, but ultimately it wasn't working out for Epic."

The team was given the assigmment of finishing the iOS Unreal Engine 3 fighting game Infinity Blade: Dungeons, but now that project is on hold indefinitely.

At the least, employees of Impossible will get three month's severance, and will be allowed to reform the studio under the same name.
