Chris Taylor's Gas Powered Games acquired by World of Tanks' Wargaming.net

In a surprise flanking manoeuvre, Wargaming.net has blitzkrieg'd its way into the offices of Chris Taylor's Gas Powered Games. They've bought the studio! The Supreme Commander developer is safe.

Taylor lauded Wargaming for being one of the "fastest growing" games companies today, and GPG's "experience and expertise" will help grow Wargaming's warchest of, err, war.

Recently Gas Powered Games cancelled their Kickstarter project Wildman, but Chris Taylor did tease that something was in the works. Apparently new ownership was that thing.

"Wargaming growth in recent years has been tremendous, and we're looking forward to joining one of the fastest growing gaming companies in the world," commented Chris Taylor. "I'm sure our experience and expertise will help us contribute even more to Wargaming's global success."

What will Gas Powered Games do now? Will they convince Wargaming to break open a piggy tank or two to fund Wildman? Will Kings and Castles be put back on the agenda?

No, they will make another pay2win mmo and Chris will depart after those project because he cant stand that shit. I am like Nostradamus, foresee things :D We should make some special SI topics and news lines :D

You guys are such pessimists. The important thing is that GPG and SupCom IP are safe. We'll see what Wargaming will do next.

Well, "being safe" is quite the relative term here :)

Perhaps you're right, perhaps they'll only provide the funding and stay the f**k away from actual game design :).

World of Commander or World of Annihilation, where you must pick your commander unit-mech, buy some *gold* ammo and set the fire on your enemy with weird and twisted random hit calculations of the game engine :D Dejavu
