SEGA: Reports of "small number" of save losses for Aliens: Colonial Marines

Publisher SEGA has confirmed they've received reports from gamers which show a "small number" are having trouble retaining their saved games for Gearbox Software's Aliens: Colonial Marines.

After some investigation it appears that the "optional HDD install" is the culprit. SEGA advises those who are suffering lost saves to uninstall it from the HDD and play from the disc.

Xbox 360 would seem to be the only troublemaker. The critically marred Aliens: Colonial Marines has debuted atop the UK chart, chest-bursting ahead of Dead Space 3.

"We've received reports that a small number of users may be experiencing problems with saving their progress after completing the game's optional HDD install," acknowledged SEGA.

"If you experience any issues with your save game data, please try uninstalling the game from your HDD and playing from disc while we investigate what may be causing this issue."

Aliens: Colonial Marines released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC last week after a turbulent development.

Another nail in the coffin for this game.

OMG! How much of a mess is this game?! Even a pack of trained monkeys would have been better...

I mean 5 companies that worked 6 years on the same game, while Sega chose to cancel Obsidian's Alien RPG which was almost complete and sounded so much better....And for what?! For a corridor shooter with COD elements. And little connexions to the franchise...Well, most of the time, anyway....

Now wolfsrain - behave! Trained monkeys everywhere is taking offence - and rightly so because of your sinister remark to compare them with not ONE but FIVE incompetent companies!
