World of Warplanes gets major update

Wargaming.net has announced that World of Warplanes, which is currently in a closed beta, will be getting a major update today in North America; European players will get it tomorrow.

The update completely overhauls the flight model, and improves mouse controls. "The new flight model adds more thrills to aerial combat and a more dynamic feel to the gameplay. This change also allows players to focus less on their efficiency in piloting and more on their mastery of technical skills," promises the press release.

According to producer Anton Sitnika, "It took us six months to make sure every tidbit of the flight model was just right, and we are pleased and happy with the results. Now that we've maximized the comfort and ergonomics of aircraft controls, tactical thinking and skills have really come to the forefront."

Gamers can check out World of Warplanes on the official site here.

"...this change also allows players to focus less on their efficiency in piloting and more on their mastery of technical skills"

What's this supposed to mean?

If nothing else, the game looks pretty.
I doubt I'll play it though since I'm not really a fan of their business model, I kinda hate it actually.

It means players can focus on maneuvers and less on instrumentation.

They chose a very weird way of saying that :).

I almost understood it the other way around, piloting skills won't matter as much as "technical skills" and those could possibly be skills in an MMO sense.
Anyway, the way they said it it sounded kinda nasty :)
