I guess the "Steam model" works really well :)
Even if Steam collapses at one point, great sales like this will be it's legacy.

This is more like a reaction to the PS4 unveiling than Steam competition.

Hmmmm, shame that all the games on that list I might have played already have been played.

I don't own Halo 4 yet. 85% off $60...

Is this not in the UK marketplace? I just had a quick gander at Dishonored and BlackOps 2 and they're Ā£40 and Ā£50 respectively still.

I just meant that steam popularized this kind of massive game sales and apparently also basically made it the industry norm in the process. Which I believe is a good thing for us :).

Or this is the fire-sale before the new console is out...
The old is no longer worth anything and starting to ship out the new..

Might very well be the case but I choose to be an optimist :)

They just copied the PS3 who started these sales some time ago.

Who, Steam or Xbox?

I'm surprised to see some fairly recent titles with such a big discount! Even steam wouldn't do that!

That's why I believe it is the last breath for the Xbox 360 stuntkid.
Something is up to keep the sales and momentum until the release of the new thing. If they can squeeze everything out of it - they can prepare for the new launch.

This is when they consider sale revenue to be less important than the brand, trying to get as many people looking at Xbox as they can manage.

If they set up the new xbox in a way that allows folks to accesss all their previous bought games for the 360 then this is the ideal way to get people invested in the new 360 before it is even released. whos going to want to switch platforms when they have already got shed loads of good games stored in their account?

IF they DO have full backwards compatibility, that would be hugely in their favour, yes.

That could be a deal breaker indeed SirRoderick - if they sell everything out now - AND have backwards compability - or confirm it to come and you can just log in with everything existing and games being there (which I highly doubt since the technology seems to have changed) I guess they will knock PS4 out of the park by being preferred by owners of Xbox 360 and seemingly offering a better deal for customers in general..
