Sony boss Shuhei Yoshida has revealed that all PlayStation 4 retail software will be available digitally, and that PSN subscriptions may feature multiple tiers in terms of "Silver/Gold/Platinum".

According to Yoshida, "We could have gold, silver or platinum levels of membership, something like that. We can do subscription services when we have more content – especially now that we have the Gaikai technology available. With one subscription you have access to thousands of games – that's our dream."

He went on to note, "We're shifting our platform more and more to the digital side. PS4 will be similar to PS Vita in that every game will be available as a digital download, and some will also be available as a disc."

One must note that all of this is still technically theoretical, as no final specs, release date or price has been revealed of the PlayStation 4.

Digital downloads of new games are more expensive than the Blu ray's for the moment.

That they are which makes me wonder who said that download games digitally will be cheaper than buying retail? Well that`s not the case with reality cause i see retail games at better prices than digitally so yeah... i for one do hope retailers keep up their job,if anything it`s better to just a physical copy due to the fact that you have the product in your hand among other things and it can even be cheaper than to download.

I always prefer to have the game in hand, the good old-fashioned way!
