No crossplatform play between PC, PS3 or PS4 versions of Diablo III

Fans have speculated in the official Blizzard forums if there might be crossplatform play between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Diablo III with the PC version. The studio has squashed that idea flat.

According to a community manager in a forum post, “While we think cross-platform play would be awesome, there are currently no plans to allow connectivity between PlayStation Network and Battle.net (this is pretty standard for most games that have PC and console support). As a result, the characters on your Battle.net account and PlayStation account will also remain separate.”

The manager also stated that gamepad support for the PC version was not planned - at least not yet.

“In terms of allowing an analog controller hookup for the PC, we don’t have any plans for that kind of support right now. Similarly, since Diablo III for console was designed with a controller in mind, the PlayStation version of Diablo III will not support USB mice or keyboards,” the manager stated.

Blizzard has yet to answer the question of whether the Real Money Auction House will be available in the console version. It seems unlikely if the console version has an offline (read as: hackable) mode.

Give PC players the cheat mode as well and all will be good :)

Why not make a remake of D2 and be done with it ;)

Even cheats would have no purpose,if you`ve finished the story you will only replay it to get better gear in which case cheats would be useless.

I was just referring to the offline mode, since the main excuse that there isn't one seems to be hacks/cheats.

Happily awaiting "Dawn of War III" here, so don't care what the hell they do with this garbage.

I think a remake of Diablo 2 would be an awesome idea.

Also, if Blizzard gives PC an offline + LAN mode, then Diablo 3 will gain massive rep... but this needs to be applied to Starcraft II as well.

Played an hour of "SC II" yesterday for the first time since launch, and I have to say it's dreadful how it has already aged so badly.
Honestly, "C&C 3" and "Sup Com" are streets ahead of it in gameplay and visuals, as is "DoW", if only the latter had a real widescreen option without stretching.

This one will depend on taste. Though Command & Conquer is an awesome game, I consider it much easier to play, as well as unbalanced when it comes to units.

Dawn of War on the other hand is an awesome game, too bad they never kept going with 1's idea.

I am also quite surprised that the Blizzard engine hasn't gotten that much better.

Hmm, I may have to install some DoW and Company of Heroes and ditch both D3 and SC2 :)

"CoH" is one that I have installed and played repeatedly over the years, never tiring of the gameplay and admiring the engine that has aged so well. Top game, and I include "Tales of Valor" as, despite it's change to a more "DoW II" experience (that I personally rate highly in my all time Top 10) has a sharp learning curve and is enjoyably different.

Company of Heroes is a game I have played before but never really played any attention to it, though I have three of the games.

I should give it a try again.

You really should mate, as it's addictive a all hell and just as bloody hard.
Besides, Sega is publishing "CoH 2" soon, so best to be up for it.

I am quite behind when it comes to my gaming... I keep on going back to the old games I love playing xD

It is high time that I start playing the new games... as soon as my studies give me another gap.

I hear you SiyaenSokol - I have to keep a hard control over my game list and have some games that is a "must finish soon" and then uninstall. Finished both Hitman Absolution and Sleeping Dogs that way. :)

If I take a look at the games I am playing at the moment, the only new games I am playing is Guild Wars 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and none of them is games that you really finish.

The rest is Starcraft II, Diablo III and Call of Duty: World at War.

I have to get to games like Dishonoured, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Assassin's Creed (which I still haven't finished to this day).

Dishonored is a really nice game inn my opinion since it is so fun to play. The techniques you learn and the little puzzles you are presented are fun to beat. The story has been said to be a weak point - but really? Tell me any story that has anything of a story to go write to your momma about (par from Planescape Torment and a very selected few adventure games)?
The story is fine - it works but the real great thing is the city you travel through.
