Square Enix trademarks Deus Ex: Human Defiance

Square Enix has filed a trademark for Deus Ex: Human Defiance, indicating a sequel to Human Revolution could be on the cards.

At this stage, it's worth noting this trademark could be for the upcoming Deus Ex film. The trademark appeared yesterday and there's no details other than the name.

A Human Revolution sequel would make sense after the game's critical and commercial acclaim back in 2011. We awarded the title 9.5/10 when it was released.

We'll let you know as soon as we hear anything.

I would be saddened but not surprised if Eidos Montreal cancelled Thief 4 and just went straight to Deus Ex 4. It's very hard to do a sequel to Thief these days that won't annoy the fans.

That said, if the Deus Ex HR team get a chance to do another DX game while ironing out the problems they are very aware of from HR... bring it on!

I'll be fine with either but I'm a bit more into Deus Ex if I had to choose.

Still haven't played the golden one ("DE:HR") as try as I might, it just doesn't scream "PLAY ME". Happy to let others buy and play it, but I'll allow this train to pass the station.
