Gameforge is celebrating the transition of Aion to a free-to-play model a year ago with some player boosts, including 50% more experience and Abyss points and a 50% increased chance on the drop rate of items, as well as the success rate when crafting from now through to the 6th March.

In addition, the developer has announced "a special happy hour" today, where players receive an additional 20% of their purchased coins when buying AION Coins between 12 and 2 PM.

Gameforge also announced details about the upcoming 3.9 update, due on the 17th April. The update will add a dungeon finder that allows players to quickly and easily join an instance group or to find further allies. The 3.9 update will also add a "Rookie" server where players can join with other low level PCs from other servers for some base regions and encounters, protected from high level players.
