Crytek founder believes "all aspects" of Crysis 3 better than previous games

Crytek founder Cevat Yerli believes Crysis 3 is the series' best iteration yet.

Speaking to Gamasutra, Yerli insisted, "It is better than Crysis 2. It is better than Crysis 1. Technical and creatively, and storytelling – all aspects."

Crysis 3 has shot to the top of the UK games chart, despite middling reviews scores. Yerli believes it is natural for a third iteration to receive a harder time from the press.

"After researching, Crytek found about 20 games that we analysed that got hammered, sequels or three-quels, where number two, number three, or number four got significantly lower ratings than the previous iterations."

"The relative impact that Crysis 3 has created is lower than what Crysis 1 did. But I would think at any level it's better than Crysis 2, and it's certainly still better than Crysis 1. People remember Crysis 1 much bigger than it was, because it had a high impact."

PS. Not hard to be better than "Crysis 2" on PC, but still easy to mess up.

I am willing to give Crysis 3 a shot, it looks like fun since it has a bow. Crysis 1 was fun, but annoying because it is almost impossible to play maxed out. Crysis 2 was just plain boring, so I agree, not difficult to be better than Crysis 2.

LOL, this is in a way quite sad. For me, Crysis was never that good to begin with. The first 2 hours of Crysis was good - but Crysis to me means sluggish shooter with all polish and no soul...

The final missions on the carrier also were a good predictor of what was to come - on-rails corridor shooter with "Shoot X" marked all over it. Consilitis had set in long before the first game was even complete.
