EA's horror action series Dead Space is still twitching with life as they announce the Awakened DLC will be launching next week March 12th for Xbox 360 and PC, with PS3 a day later on the 13th.

This new content features the "darkest chapters" yet in the franchise as the Necromorph fight harder with "even more gruesome and terrifying" battles than before. A trailer has gone live.

Recently the Dead Space IP was thought to be getting thrown out the airlock, but EA is adamant they won't be ditching the series and deny Dead Space 4 is canned.

"In Dead Space 3 Awakened, gamers will experience some of the most disturbing content they have ever seen in a Dead Space game," said Steve Papoutsis, head of developer Visceral Games. "They are going to love it."

Dead Space 3 released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in early February.

DS has stopped being horror with it`s latest installment, stop saying otherwise.

Have EA woken up to themselves or is this an actual title? Could be either really, but I honestly think there's quite enough in the main game, and with gamers now moving on quickly to the next 'big thing', this is more for the quiet selling times.

I'd still like to play this game, but even I will agree that Dead Space lost its touch. The game can only become more gory now.
