Blizzard: "Nobody is close to figuring out Starcraft 2 yet"

Are you playing Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm? Blizzard is taking note. The developer is paying close attention to how players are using the game's new units, suggesting nobody has come close to exploring the wealth of new possibilities.

"Just wanted to let you know that our design team is watching every major match carefully and will continue doing so," Blizzard’s David Kim wrote on the official forum.

"The super aggressive play is turning out to be really fun to watch. Nobody is close to figuring the game out yet. A few players are really changing up their play and having completely different results than what’s expected by the majority."

Kim also confirmed that potential balancing issues haven't been a major problem.

"We’ll try our best to not be too quick to make judgments on things that are allowing players to play a much more aggressive game. For example, yes Medivacs look strong but it’s forcing even the opponents to play aggressive and the constant action throughout the game is looking to be really fun to watch," he continued.

"We’ll continue watching all the pro and community concerns, but keep in mind we’d really like the game to settle before we step in and make a move."

Has Heart of the Swarm forced you to change your play style?

Gosh, it's a science now. I saw this the other day in K-Mart for $40 but to me it's just more of the same with window dressing. I'll await more promising titles for me like "StarDrive".

You can get stardrive now hero and play the beta, definitely recommend it,been playing it for almost a week now.

Hots campaign was not as good as WoL but only by a little bit,for one it did not feel as big as WoL, a lot of the old units were not in here at all,and everyone agrees that the game is much easier that WoL,if you want a challenge start the game on hard otherwise you will never lose.

I was holding off as I have strong memories of "Legends of Pegasus", which is legendary only for it's complete failure and absence of support.
How is the beta, dan...just going off-topic for a bit if I may?

If it didn't say so on their site you would not even know that StarDrive is still in beta, it's very stable and I personally experienced no bugs at all.
It's not yet feature complete though but it's already a fun game.

That's good enough for me. I'll watch a few videos and if it's not too much like many other 4X Space-based strategies (excluding "Sins") I'll plonk out for it.
Otherwise if it really is "same-old-same-old" I'll wait for a sale.

Hmmm. It looks an upmarket version of "Star Ruler" to be honest, which is just as heavy, if not heavier on micro-management but very similar in ship design and production. Just light on bells and whistles.

Glad to hear about how much has changed. I started playing the campaign Sunday, and I have to say it caught my attention completely. I will be "no life'ing" from today... after the University closes oaf course.

The whole interface for the game has changed. Leveling for an example, I think will make the game more popular now.
