Freshly baked WHQL drivers have just come out of Nvidia, which they describe as an "essential update for all GeForce GTX systems." They claim a 41% performance boost for BioShock Infinite in some cases.

Then there's the 71% of extra muscle for Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider. The 314.22 WHQL drivers include SLI profiles for Resident Evil 6, Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter and Sniper Elite.

Given that BioShock Infinite released yesterday it's a huge boon for PC gamers if they're packing a GeForce GTX system. They come a little late for Tomb Raider but still.

"Featuring performance optimizations of up to 41% in BioShock Infinite, and 71% in Tomb Raider, 314.22 WHQL is an essential update for all GeForce GTX systems. Other highlights include single-GPU and SLI performance improvements of up to 30% in Civilization V, 22% in Sniper Elite V2, and 12% in Sleeping Dogs," blurbs Nvidia.

"314.22 WHQL also includes SLI profiles for Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter, Resident Evil 6, and Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army; 3D Vision profiles for Brutal Legend, MUD, and Tomb Raider; and a NVIDIA Control Panel Ambient Occlusion profile for BioShock Infinite." The latest drivers are available to download here.

"In BioShock Infinite, performance improved by 32% at 1920x1080, powering our GTX 680 past 90 frames per second when using Ultra DirectX 11 settings. With optional Alternate Post-Processing added to the mix, we saw a 25% improvement over 314.07 WHQL performance, taking the GTX 680 from 61 frames per second to 76 frames per second."

I see I have another busy half hour playing the over-complicated uninstall/install process that is Nvidia's updating. They could really take a leaf out of AMD's book.

The way to install new drivers correctly is to uninstall all components of the previous driver(s) (and this takes 2 restarts in which time Windows attempts to update both audio and video drivers with generic drivers which it can't).
Then you manually remove the Nvidia folder, run a registry cleaner program, restart again, then install the new driver.
Took me 15 minutes, whereas the same process takes 2 minutes with AMD's drivers.

I noticed that "Aliens: Colonial Marines" wasn't listed in the notes as being improved, as alas nothing will ever improve that dog's breakfast.

Shocked at how much they screwed that game up... haven't seen it in action yet, but the fact that the whole world is complaining about it must mean something.
